We are pledged to spreading the word about the richness of Balinese crafts and cultures. The origins of these crafts go way back into antiquity, mostly religious based work, exotic wood-carvings, stone-carvings, sacred paintings in different styles, uses of bamboo and rattan. These reflect the deep spiritual affinity that Balinese people feel in their lives towards Nature. It wasn’t until the advent of the 20th Century, and the influence of European painters, that this began to change. Bali Art Sales has categories which include traditional religious and spiritual art, but also figure-paintings, abstract paintings, flower paintings, landscape paintings, painted eggs, mahogany furniture, teak furniture, rattan furniture and bamboo furniture, and poly-rattan, (a rugged all-weather woven synthetic for year-in year-out, outdoor-furniture use), indoor lighting, jewellery, aromatherapy, wonderful ceramics and glassware in both practical and display forms, health and massage spa products, home and garden items, batik etc.

Bali Art Sales has just teamed up with a new art studio. They have some amazingly talented artists, who paint in various styles, and the same paintings can be produced in either acrylic, or oil on canvas for a premium. There are many images to be posted,and we will be doing this over the next few days and weeks. They are under the headings KR-Realist and KR-Flowers.There has traditionally been a postal-charge per painting, but we would now like to offer a postal discount of 25% on orders of 2 paintings or more. In addition, you can send a digital image to us, to be painted. We will be getting prices for this service soon (apologies for the delay in getting this organised). See the paragraph below (18th April) for a few more technical details.

Remember those books you read as a child about intrepid sailors stranded on tropical islands? Have you ever dreamed of a holiday on what is probably the best tropical island, and voted Number One holiday destination? Bali Art Sales will be teaming up with hotels large and small on Bali, with guest houses and other accommodation at bargain rates to bring you great holiday-stay options at the best prices. We will also join with other organisations for tours, trips, sightseeing, vehicle-hire with or without a local driver, for every budget. Bali Art Sales has access to the talents of some great artists. We publish images of their work on this site, for sale to discerning buyers. These artists can also paint images from photographs or illustrations. We will be publishing pricing details together with some samples in the next few days. For the artist to get the best details from your image, the physical dimensions of the picture, and the size in megabytes must be larger than a few centimetres at 72 dots per inch. (Preferable is 200-300 dots per inch (80-120 dots per cm)). Sending big files by email is a non-starter, but you CAN do it by signing up for a free account on: www.yousendit.com This allows you to send files of up to 100Megabytes to a given address. 2008 has come and gone, and here we are in a new year. Times are not easy, so Bali Art Sales will be maintaining 2008 prices as much as possible on the items most easily available through the postal services.

NEW from August 2008!

Bali Art Sales is thrilled to be hosting a gallery of paintings for sale, from gifted Indonesian artist Lony Wing. His paintings are wonderfully vibrant, and a visual and intellectual treat.

As from August 12th 2008

Bali Art Sales will be providing paintings from the “Canvas Size Choices-LC” collection as rolled-canvases only. This follows issues with the Post Office EMS (Express Mail Service) which seems to have arbitrary thresholds on both size and weight on bulky lightweight items. Although there is now an onus on the customer to frame the canvas, it will mean cheaper postal rates for everyone, everywhere. We hope that this is seen as a minor inconvenience for true art lovers.

The Lony Wing canvases are rolled-canvas only, and are unaffected.
